Torus

Our running record.

Our work is built on direct engagement — with the mothers we serve, and with the agencies working alongside them.

    Ecosystem and market access

    KEPS 2026

We took part in KUSKOP's national Social Enterprise Ecosystem Convention (Konvensyen Ekosistem Perusahaan Sosial 2026), themed "Connecting Markets, Expanding Impact". Our goal was to position Torus within the national social enterprise ecosystem, build relationships with impact investors, corporate buyers and government agencies, and understand the accreditation and social procurement routes that can create sustainable demand for the work our mothers produce.

    Showcase and partnerships

    SEEd.Lab Open Day 2026

As a Cohort 4 venture in the SEEd.Lab programme, powered by PETRONAS and Tata Consultancy Services, we showcased Torus at the Open Day. Our goal was to put our model in front of industry leaders, investors, ecosystem players and potential partners, gather honest feedback on the venture, and rally support behind fairly paid, dignified work for single mothers.

  1. Partnership and outreach

    Engagement with MyKasih Foundation

We connected with MyKasih Foundation, one of Malaysia's most established welfare NGOs, which has supported B40 families and single mothers across hundreds of communities nationwide. Our goal was to build on that established groundwork, identifying communities where MyKasih already holds trusted relationships so we can reach mothers and set up new hubs faster, rather than starting cold in each location.

    Ecosystem engagement

    KasihnITa programme officiation with JPW

We were honoured to attend the officiation of KasihnITa (KASIH Ibu Tunggal), a national empowerment programme by Jabatan Pembangunan Wanita dedicated to supporting single mothers across Malaysia. Being present deepened our understanding of the national support landscape and let us connect directly with the organisations working toward the same goal.

    Lived experience

    Ground immersion experience

Our team spent time in the homes and neighbourhoods of the mothers we serve. Direct observation, home visits and community mapping showed us the practical realities of daily life — from the physical space available for home-based work to the community networks they rely on.

    Research and empathy

    Focus group discussions

By bringing mothers together in a safe, supportive environment, we heard their stories firsthand — the shared challenge of balancing childcare with the need for stable income, and the creativity they already use to support their families.

  2. Policy and collaboration

    Engagement with Jabatan Pembangunan Wanita

We engaged JPW to understand existing support systems for women in Malaysia, identify critical gaps in economic empowerment, and refine our focus on sustainable, long-term solutions rather than temporary aid.
